In this document the Plataforma per la Llengua explains the main features and characteristics of the linguistic immersion model in Catalonia. It offers a comparison of the Catalan educational system with the educational model of other countries that use the same methodology.

This booklet wants to show how this system guarantees bilingual Catalan-speaking students after completing compulsory education, since the social environment of Catalonia is very favorable to Spanish and language immersion guarantees and makes it possible for people who do not have Catalan as their first language to learn this language with a native level of fluency.
